Hi Porpoises,

Before we jump into this week's updates, I just wanted to say thank you for your patience, flexibility, and positive attitudes during last week's weather challenges.

After an incredibly dry start to the season, it seemed like Mother Nature decided to make up for lost time all at once! We know the cancelled practices, the postponed/cancelled meet, and all of the schedule changes created extra stress for everyone. Thank you to our swimmers, parents, volunteers, and coaches for rolling with the changes and helping us make the best of a difficult week. We truly appreciate everyone's flexibility and support.

Now, let's finish the season strong! Here's everything you need to know for our final week of the season!

Practice Schedule

This will be our last week of practices for the season. Please note the schedule changes below. Afternoon practices on Thursday and Friday are limited to swimmers participating in TSA Championships.

Monday: Normal schedule
Tuesday: No practice (Away Meet)
Wednesday: Normal schedule
Thursday:

• Morning: Open to all swimmers ages 7+
• Afternoon (TSA Champs participants only):
  • Ages 11+: 4:00–5:15 PM
  • Ages 10 & Under: 5:15–6:15 PM

Friday:

• Morning: Open to all swimmers ages 7+
• Afternoon (TSA Champs participants only):
  • Ages 11+: 4:00–5:15 PM
  • Ages 10 & Under: 5:15–6:15 PM

TSA Championship Meet

A reminder that TSA Championship payments are now due. Please submit payment through SwimTopia:

The league is still looking for volunteers, and the only way to be on deck during the meet is to volunteer. If you're still looking for volunteer credits, volunteering at TSA Championships will count toward your season requirement. If you're interested, please message me so I can coordinate assignments.

End-of-Season Party

Our End-of-Season Party will be held Tuesday, July 21, from 6:00–8:00 PM at the clubhouse and pool.

Dinner will be served to everyone in attendance. Kona Ice will be free for all swimmers on our roster (swimmers will receive a ticket at check-in). Additional Kona Ice cups will be available for purchase directly from the truck at menu prices.

Following dinner, we'll hold our annual awards ceremony on the pool deck.

Please RSVP in SwimTopia by Friday, July 17, at midnight so we know how much food to order.

Tuesday Away Meet – Carpenter Village

Location

705 Carpenter Town Lane
Cary, NC 27519

There is a parking lot at the pool. Once it fills, street parking is also available. Please obey all parking signs and avoid blocking driveways.

Team Area

We have been assigned the deck space on the east side of the pool (to the right as you enter). While Carpenter Village has some chairs available, you may want to bring folding chairs just in case.

Arrival

Swimmers should arrive between 5:00–5:10 PM and check in with our swimmer check-in volunteers.

Any swimmer who has not checked in by 5:30 PM will be scratched from the meet unless we've heard from you beforehand. Coach Evan and I will both check email at 5:30 before scratches are submitted. Don't worry if you don't receive a reply - the hour before a meet is very busy, and we often aren't able to respond.

Volunteer Meeting

There will be a brief volunteer meeting under the American flag at 5:45 PM.

Special Request

Carpenter Village has asked that our swimmers not write on their backs for this meet, as the Sharpie can rub off onto their chairs.

Writing on arms or the front of legs is perfectly fine - just please skip the backs this week (yes, that includes "Eat My Bubbles.").

Concessions

They'll have Chick-fil-A, pizza, snacks (chips, candy, and Italian ice), plus drinks including soda, bottled water, and sports drinks. Credit cards are accepted.

Meet End Time

Carpenter Village does not have pool lights, so the meet must end by 8:30 PM.

We'll do our best to complete the full meet, but if time becomes an issue, exhibition butterfly heats may be eliminated. I'll have a better idea of the timeline once the meet entries are merged later tonight.

If your swimmer can no longer attend Tuesday's meet, please email Coach Evan at [email protected] no later than noon on Tuesday, if possible.
