2025 Swim Team Season - Registration Is Open!
Registration for the 2025 summer swim team season is now open. The regular registration window has closed. Late registration will remain open through May 28th. The final deadline to register is Wednesday, May 28th.
The Park Village Porpoises are a member of the Tarheel Swimming Association -- North Carolina's largest summer recreational youth swim league. Our home meets and practices are held at the Park Village Pool. For more information, please contact [email protected].
All residents of Park Village aged 4 to 18 years as of June 1st are eligible to join the team, provided they meet minimum water safety requirements. League dual meets are held on Tuesday evenings in June through mid-July. HOA dues must be in good standing to join the swim team. Park Village homeowners and renters welcome!
New Water Safety Policy for 2025: All children will be evaluated for water safety during the first two weeks of practice. We are not concerned with legal stroke technique, but we must ensure all children are safe in the water. Children 7-10 should be able to swim a full length of the pool (25 yards) without touching the bottom or holding on to the lane lines. Children 11+ should be able to swim two full lengths of the pool (50 yards). Children 6 & under need to be "water safe" - they should be able to jump in and confidently get themselves safely to the edge of the pool (no flotation aids, no holding onto lane lines) as well as follow the instructions of our coaches. To participate in meets, children 6 & under must be able to swim 15 yards unassisted. All decisions regarding water safety and meet readiness will be made by our coaching staff; coach decisions related to water safety are final.

2025 Registration Fees:
All ages determined by swimmer's age on June 1, 2025.
Registration fees include practices, mock meet, Tuesday night meets, league dues, awards, and social events throughout the season.
For safety, swimmers must attend at least one practice and have permission from the head coach before registering for the Mock Meet. The head coach may waive this requirement for some swimmers (for example, year-round swimmers attending alternative practices or swimmers the coaches have recently worked with) - contact the coach directly if you need an exception. The registration deadline for the Mock Meet is Friday, May 30th at 11:59 pm.
Late Registration Window (May 12 - May 28):
Team shirt & team cap are not guaranteed for those registering during the late registration window. Shirts from previous seasons may be substituted, but are subject to availability.
Ages 12 & under:
First Swimmer: $145
Second Swimmer: $140
All Additional Swimmers: $130
Ages 13-14: $100
Ages 15+: $90
Refund Policy:
If your child decides that swim team is not for them, you may request a refund, less $35 per swimmer to cover expenses. Refunds must be submitted in writing to [email protected] and must be received no later than June 7th. No refunds will be issued after June 7th.
Volunteering Policy:
The swim team is run entirely by parent volunteers. We require all families to complete a minimum of four volunteer credits throughout the season, only one of which may be earned at the Mock Meet. There are plenty of volunteering positions suitable for those new to swim team. Please note that volunteering positions require your full attention - if you have small children, please arrange to have someone else supervise them on the pool deck during your shift. There are some positions that are considered critical - these roles must be filled in order to hold the meet. While rare, we reserve the right to reassign volunteer roles to cover these critical roles to avoid forfeiting a meet.
Families who choose not to volunteer will be charged a volunteer fee of $280 at the end of the season. If something comes up and you cannot complete your credits, we can prorate your credits ($70 per credit). Please contact [email protected] for more details.
