Hi Porpoises,

The following information is for the 43rd Annual Cary City Invitational Meet, which will be held on Saturday, July 11, at Scottish Hills Recreation Club in Cary. The rain date for this event is Sunday, July 12.

This meet is open to all Park Village Porpoises, but it is not included in your season registration fees. Additional fees apply (up to $18 per swimmer).

For many swimmers, Cary City is one of the highlights of the summer season. Between the larger field of competitors, team spirit, and tent decorations, it has become a favorite event for many returning Porpoises.

Important Deadlines

• Registration Deadline: Monday, June 29 at 8:00 PM
• Payment Deadline: Wednesday, July 1 at 12:00 PM (Noon)

Failure to submit payment by the deadline will result in your swimmer being removed from the meet.

General Information

The Cary City Invitational is open to all teams in the Southern Division of TSA. It's a fun opportunity to race against friends from teams we don't typically compete against during the regular season.

One of the highlights of the meet is the team tent competition. Each team chooses a theme and decorates its tent accordingly. This year's Park Village theme is "Mickey and Friends"—think classic Mickey Mouse characters!

Schedule

The meet is divided into two sessions. Times below are approximate and may change slightly based on the number of participants.

Morning Session (10 & Under)

• 7:00 AM – Warm-ups begin (Park Village's assigned warm-up time will be announced by July 5)
• 8:00 AM – First event
• Approximately 12:30 PM – Session concludes

Afternoon Session (11 & Over)

• 1:00 PM – Warm-ups begin
• 2:15 PM – First event
• Approximately 7:30 PM – Session concludes

Event Limits

Swimmers Ages 7 & Up

• May enter up to 3 individual events
• Swimmers should be able to swim all entered events legally - Coach Evan will review event selections 

6 & Under Swimmers

• May enter up to 2 individual events
• Freestyle and Backstroke only
• Events are 25 yards
• No kid catchers are permitted
• Coach Evan must approve all 6 & Under entries to ensure swimmer safety

Fees

Individual events cost $6 per event.

Relay entries, if relay teams can be formed, will be paid for by the team.

Volunteering

Each team is required to provide volunteers based on the number of swimmers attending. We will receive our volunteer assignments on July 5.

We already have a few volunteers lined up for each session, but we ask that all families attending Cary City be willing to help if needed. In past years, we've been able to split volunteer roles among several people so that everyone has an opportunity to enjoy the meet.

Please indicate your swimmer's availability for relays when completing the form. This form will close on Monday, June 29th at 8:00 PM.

Select the appropriate number of events for each swimmer and add them to your cart.

Example: If one swimmer enters three events and another enters two events, your total would be $30 (5 events × $6 per event).

Payment is due by Wednesday, July 1 at 12:00 PM (Noon). If payment has not been received by that time, your swimmer will be removed from the meet.

Please note that all payments are non-refundable, as the meet organizers do not issue refunds after entries close.
