Hello Porpoise Families!

The weather looks great for our first week of swim practices! We are so excited to meet all of our new swimmers and see all of our previous swimmers again. Reminder that practice starts today, Tuesday, May 28th! Find your practice times here: https://parkvillage.swimtopia.com/practices

As a reminder, Park Village pool policies prevent the drop-off of swimmers under 11 years old, and no one other than swimmers who are actively practicing with the team is allowed to be in the water when the lifeguards are not on duty. 

The mock meet will be held on June 4th at 6pm. It's very important that swimmers opt-in to the meet through Swimtopia. The deadline to enter the mock meet is Saturday, June 1 at 11:59pm. This ensures efficient planning and preparation, as a significant amount of work is involved in setting up the events and printing out paperwork. Please note that no late adds will be accepted as this will delay the start of the mock meet. Declare your swimmer here under Meet Entry: https://parkvillage.swimtopia.com/swim_meets

We know that the mock meet falls during EOGs for some swimmers, but due to the late opening of the pool this year, we had no alternatives since our first dual meet is the following week. We plan to make every effort to end the mock meet between 8 and 8:30. Freestyle relays may be cut in the interest of time.

If you are interested in learning the Meet Administrator role, please let me know. This computer-based role ensures that all times are entered correctly, verifies the correct place finishers from the order of finish judges, enters disqualifications into the system, and prints ribbon labels for the ribbon writers. I will be doing this role at the Mock Meet and am happy to show you what needs to be done - the Meet Maestro system is user-friendly and easy to learn. As a bonus, Meet Administrators get a seat in the shade!

Lastly, if you have friends or neighbors considering joining the team, please let them know that registration closes Friday, May 31st. We will offer late registration until June 7th, but no registrations will be accepted after that date.
